摘要
Linear and third order polarizabilities for aza-derivatives of symmetric cyanine dyes are calculated in a free-electron like model. The nonlinearity in these molecules is larger compared to the corresponding cyanines and polyenes. This is attributed to the N-atom substitution causing an increased anharmonicity without significantly reducing the delocalization. © 1979.
