摘要
Generation of high-order transverse modes and patterns in electrically pumped vertical-cavity surface-emitting semiconductor lasers (VCSELs) has been investigated experimentally. Both Gauss-Hermite modes and Gauss-Laguerre modes have been observed in large-aperture VCSELs operated well above threshold. The experiments show that these spatial patterns can be controlled by external light injection.
