摘要
The influence of kaolinite on the nitration of 1 appears not to involve intercalation: the increase from 1% to 27% in the yield of 3 at the expense of 2 during nitration in the presence of a solid support is instead a consequence of the fact that the CO leaving group is protonated as it is adsorbed onto the strongly acidic surface of the clay mineral.
