LATITUDINAL DISTRIBUTION OF THE SOURCES OF CARBON-MONOXIDE IN THE TROPOSPHERE

摘要
We have constructed a vertically and zonally averaged model of the troposphere which calculates photochemical interactions and diffusive North‐South transport of trace species. The model can be used to calculate the latitudinal distribution of the source function of a species if its concentration distribution is known. We have applied this procedure to carbon monoxide and find large sources outside the industrialized belt in the Northern Hemisphere. Copyright 1979 by the American Geophysical Union.
