ENHANCED RAMAN-SCATTERING BY PYRIDINE PHYSISORBED ON A CLEAN SILVER SURFACE IN ULTRAHIGH-VACUUM

摘要
Anomalously intense Raman signals were observed from thin films of pyridine physisorbed on an argon-ion cleaned silver surface maintained near 77 K in ultra-high vacuum. Experiments employing deuterium-enriched pyridine, C5D5N, demonstrate that it is the species immediately adjacent to the metal surface whose Raman spectrum is appreciably enhanced. © 1979.
