摘要
Single crystals of Ba5SiO4Cl6 were prepared by a long-time flux technique. It crystallizes with monoclinic symmetry, space group C2h6-C2/c (a = 9.469 angstrom, b = 14.752 angstrom, c = 11.732 angstrom, beta = 104.58-degrees). The so far unknown crystal structure shows the expected SiO4 tetrahedra within a Ba2+/O2-/Cl- network. The coordination of the different point positions of Ba2+ will be discussed.
