RELAXING NUCLEOSYNTHESIS BOUNDS ON STERILE NEUTRINOS

摘要
We have analyzed the constraints arising from nucleosynthesis on possible oscillation between a doublet neutrino (nu(e), nu(mu) or nu(tau)) and a sterile neutrino (nu(s)) in the presence of their couplings to a majoron. The bounds on the mixing angle and mass-squared difference derived previously based on the standard model interactions are found to be weakened by several orders of magnitude. For the case of a 17 keV pseudo-Dirac nu(tau), the constraint on the singlet-doublet mass splitting is relaxed to \delta-m2\ less-than-or-equal-to O(10) eV2.
