AUTOMATIC ANALYSIS OF AMINO ACIDS - EFFECT OF RESIN CROSS-LINKING AND OPERATIONAL VARIABLES ON RESOLUTION

摘要
The definitive elaboration of the various parameters involved in the use of spherical ion-exchange resins has not been completely presented to date. This paper is an attempt to demonstrate the graded effects one may expect over a range of various temperatures, buffer pH, and the result of intermixing of resins of varying particle sizes and crosslinkages. As a result of this work, one is now in a better position to predict what will happen to a variety of ninhydrin reacting compounds that might be expected to be found in physiological fluids. A satisfactory set of conditions for an accelerated analysis of physiological fluids is presented and chromatograms are shown demonstrating resolution and peak elution time. The more difficult areas of resolution are discussed and suggestions are presented for resolving these sensitive areas based on this work. © 1969.
