摘要
In this paper the energy demand in the chemical industry is discussed in order to cover it by solar energy. The decisive criterion for solar chemical processes shall be a second law thermodynamic evaluation with regard to the efficiency of energy conversion in the respective process and selectivity of raw material conversion to a desired product. Reactions of interest are classified and principal as well as more practical criteria are introduced. Where appropriate, also R&D deficits are identified.
