OPTICAL-EMISSION OF EXCITON-PHONON QUASI-PARTICLES IN INP

摘要
New optical emission structure is observed at a photon energy about one-LO-phonon above the gap of InP at low temperatures. It is suggested that this new structure arises from the emission of a resonant quasiparticle involving the interaction of the exciton continuum with discrete 1s-exciton states plus an LO-phonon. A Green's function formalism is used to calculate the energy spectrum of this quasiparticle and to explain the dependence of the emission rate on temperature and light frequency. Also, an analysis of the feasibility of observating this structure in GaAs is presented.
