The kinetic regularities and dislocation structure at polygonization of single crystal Al + 0.0184% Cu (previously deformed by 40% along {110} 〈100〉) are investigated at a temperature of 140 °C and pressure up to 11 kbar. The high pressure effect is shown to cause a growth deceleration of subgrain sizes and their misorientation and also a slowing down of the softening with activation volumes: V(σ) = (7.4 ± 0.4) cm3/mole, V(l) = (7.0 ± 0.3) cm3/mole, V(ϕ) = (7.6 ± 0.3) cm3/mole. It is found that under high pressure the subboundaries with less perfect dislocation structure are formed. The analysis of the obtained data shows that the conservative dislocation displacement plays the main role in aluminum polygonization under the given conditions.
