MILLIMETER-WAVE ABSORPTION BY AQUEOUS AEROSOL CLUSTERS

摘要
It is shown that laboratory measurements of the anomalous millimetre wave absorption of water vapour can be interpreted as due to aqueous aerosol (Aitken) clusters. A phenomenological theory is presented which accounts for the vapour pressure and temperature dependence of existing experimental results. The relevance of the aerosol theory to the widely reported anomalous absorption in the atmosphere is discussed.
