SURFACE-CHARGE AND LEDGE DYNAMICS IN CADMIUM-SULFIDE

摘要
Assuming a primarily ledge-localized surface charge, an analysis of sublimation-related annihilation of point defects in ionic crystals is presented. The results indicate that the process of accomodation and annihilation of these defects is a function of ledge spacing (λ) and that the process is optimized at a given value of λ. These results are consistent with recent experimental observations on cadmium sulfide surfaces. © 1979.
