ROTATIONAL ISOMERISM AND CONJUGATION IN VINYLCYCLOPROPANE . ELECTRON DIFFRACTION OF FREE MOLECULES IN GAS PHASE

摘要
The molecular structure and the rotational isomerism of gaseous vinylcyclopropane has been determined by electron diffraction measurements. At room temperature the compound exists as an equilibrium mixture of 75 ± 6%s-trans and 25 ± 6% gauche-form. The enthalpy difference between the rotamers is ΔG293 = -1·1 ± 0·2 kcal/mole. © 1969.
