摘要：

The growing likelihood that a new government will soon take power in South Africa means that many decisions must be made about the objectives, design, and implementation of a strategy for the rural economy in general and agricultural development in particular. The paper examines several lessons pertaining to the design and implementation of agricultural policy, based on the experience of Zimbabwe.
