摘要
Criticism of current approaches to assessment indicates the need for effective alternatives. Given a general understanding of the criticism, the authors describe the bases for an alternative approach to initial assessment activity. Specifically, the discussion focuses on (1) a conceptualization of initial assessment and consultation, (2) the problem-solving paradigm as a framework for guiding this activity, and (3) a description of procedures and initial data from a demonstration program. © 1979, Council for Learning Disabilities.
