ON DYNAMICS OF SINGLE PION PRODUCTION IN HIGH-ENERGY HADRONIC INTERACTIONS

A one-pion exchange model with empirical momentum transfer damping is employed to predict the energy behaviour of σ(PP → PNπ+) and of the branching ratio σ(PP → PNπ+)/σ(PP → PPπ0). The results are found to agree well with experimental data and allow an investigation of and predictions for the asymptotic behaviour of single-meson production in nucleon-nucleon and pion-nucleon interactions. © 1969.
