CRYSTAL-POTENTIAL DETERMINATION BY INVERSION FOR CENTROSYMMETRIC CRYSTALS

A method to obtain the potential for centrosymmetric crystals from fast electron diffraction data is presented. The technique is illustrated by considering the case of a three-beam systematic row and its extension to five-beam zone-axis geometries. The Fourier coefficients of the crystal potential are formally obtained from the eigenvalues associated with individual partial wave components of the Bloch wave associated with the fast electron. The eigenvalues may be determined from ''spectral'' lines in higher-order Laue zone beams using standard convergent-beam techniques.
