LONG-WAVELENGTH PLASMON DAMPING IN THE 2-DIMENSIONAL ELECTRON-GAS

摘要
The damping of the long wavelength plasmon in a homogeneous electron layer is determined by two-electron-hole excitations. Analytical and numerical results for the corresponding imaginary part of the dielectric function and the plasmon half width are presented for various densities and different manners of screening.
