Complexes of the di- and triphosphacyclopentadienyl ring systems of the type [Ru(eta(5)-P2C3t Bu(3))(eta(5)-C8H11), [RU(eta(5)-P(3)C(2)(t)Bu(2))(PPh(3))PPh(2)C(6)H(4)], [Rh(eta(5)-P(2)C(3)(t)Bu(3))(eta(4)-diene)], (diene = hexa-1,5-diene, 1,5-cyclooctadiene), and the novel hydride complex [RhH(eta(1)-P3C2t Bu(2))(eta(5)-C(5)Me(5))(PPh(3))], are described, and H-1, P-31, and C-13 NMR data reported and discussed. The structures of [Rh(eta(5)-P(2)C(3)(t)Bu(3))(eta(4)-COD)] and [RhH(eta(1)-P(3)C(2)(t)Bu(2))(eta(5)-C(5)Me(5))PPh(3)] have been determined by X-ray diffraction studies.
