摘要
There are two chemotypes (Type-T and Type-O) of the liverwort Frullania tamarisci subsp. obscura. The former type produces tamariscol, possessing the intense mossy odour, and 5-alpha,7-beta(H)-eudesm-4-alpha,6-alpha-diol as the major components and the latter type lacks the above two sesquiterpenoids while eudesmanolides are predominant. Type-T is chemically similar to F. tamarisci subsp. asagrayana and F. tamarisci subsp. tamarisci, although the sesquiterpene lactones present are different. Frullania tamarisci subsp. nisquallensis is chemically close to F. tamarisci subsp. asagrayana and F. tamarisci subsp. tamarisci, except for the absence of tamariscol. F. nepalensis produces tamariscol as the minor component, but the sesquiterpene lactone class is different from that of the F. tamarisci complex containing tamariscol.
