THE CONCENTRATION-DEPENDENCE OF THE NI-2+ HYDRATION GEOMETRY IN AQUEOUS-SOLUTION

摘要
Results are presented of neutron diffraction experiments on a series of solutions of NiCl2 in D2O. Contrary to results from a previous investigation, no change in the Ni2+ hydration geometry is found in the concentration range 0.1 molal to 2.0 molal. A simple model is introduced in an attempt to deduce information on the distribution of orientations of the hydrated water molecules.
