HEAVY-ELECTRON BEHAVIOR IN CEPT2SN2 SINGLE-CRYSTALS

摘要
Measurements of specific heat, magnetic susceptibility and electrical resistivity have been carried out on single-crystal CePt2Sn2 with the tetragonal CaBe2Ge2-type structure. The antiferromagnetic transition at T(N) = 0.88 K reported for a polycrystal sample monoclinically distorted from the above structure was not detected down to 0.45 K. A strong enhancement of C/T was observed upon decreasing the temperature below 2 K: it reaches to 7J/mol K2 at 0.45 K from 0.4 J/mol K2 at 2 K.
