摘要
For spin-1/2 nuclei magic-angle spinning fails to completely average dipolar interactions to quadrupolar nuclei. This phenomenon, first noticed for the (C-13, N-14) pair of nuclei, is of common occurrence. The theory is reviewed herein, with emphasis on the perturbation treatment (increasingly valid as the applied magnetic field increases). The information about shielding, dipolar, indirect coupling and quadrupolar interaction tensors, available from the spectra, is discussed. A review is given of applications to a range of nuclear spin pairs.
