摘要
We evaluate the effect of an electric field F along the molecular axis on the magnetic shielding constants σa and σb of a hydrogen molecule. It was found that the two shielding constants can be represented as σa,b(F)=σ±C1F z - C3Fx2 C3F x2-C3Fx2-C′2(F x2+Fy2) if the z axis is taken as the molecular axis. We found that σ = 1.40114σ0 and C1 = 2.19171σ0 if F is expressed in atomic units e/a02; σ0=e2/3mc 2a0. It is concluded that the splitting is observable if F is of the order of 106 to 107 V/cm.
