摘要
The common features of different ultrafiltration applications are summarized under the headings: Concentration, Fractionation, "Killing two birds with one stone", Treatment of wastewater, Combination of separation processes and Integrated process systems. Some ultrafiltration applications are also treated in detail. These are: the production of ultrapure water, cheesemaking, whey and potato protein recovery, egg and animal blood processing, clarification of juice, wine, vinegar and gelatin solutions, downstream processing, membrane bioreactors, recovery of electrodeposition paints, treatment of oil and latex emulsions, applications in the pulp and paper industry, such as treatment of bleach plant effluents, recovery of lignin compounds in spent pulping liquors and the deresination of washing liquors. The influence of concentration polarization, fouling, pretreatment and cleaning on the performance of the ultrafiltration plant is also discussed. Finally, recent developments in membrane materials and modules are presented. © 1990.
