Two types of thin film temperature heat fluxmeters are presented: the first with two superimposed thermocouples and the second with only one layer of series-connected thermocouples. The properties of each constitutive layer deposited onto nickel-base superalloys are described, i.e. NiCoCrAlY coating, alumina and zirconia layers, Platinel-type thin film thermocouples. Such gradient-type fluxmeters indicated for use in turbomachinery can withstand 800-degrees-C it they are of the first type and 1000-degrees-C if of the second type with the present state of the art.
