EFFICIENT SATURATION OF STIMULATED BRILLOUIN-SCATTERING DUE TO NON-LINEAR ION WAVE DECAY

摘要
Secondary decay of the ion acoustic wave into two new ion waves is shown to provide a very efficient saturation mechanism of stimulated Brillouin scattering in underdense plasmas. Nonnegligible reflectivity is expected only when the plasma density is {greater-than or approximate}10% of the critical density. © 1979.
