摘要
A wet chemical synthetic route is presented for the preparation of a spherical quantum well. The quantum well consists of a core of size-quantized CdS, a monolayer of HgS and approximately four monolayers of CdS as the outermost shell. The total diameter of these particles exhibiting unique optical properties is about 80 A. The route described opens the way for the generation of quantum dot quantum wells (QDQW) with variable layer thicknesses as well as for compounds composed from more than two materials.
