COMPOSITIONAL AND MODAL RELATIONSHIPS AND MELTING REACTIONS IN SOME MIGMATITIC METAPELITES FROM NEW-HAMPSHIRE AND MAINE

This report summarizes observations on a hand-specimen (10-20 cm) scale of modal and compositional relationships in leucosomes and melanosomes of some migmatitic schists from New Hampshire and Maine, U. S. A. Mineralmelt reactions are inferred, based on model variations. Much of the data presented corroborate and reproduce observations in other studies of migmatites, suggesting a general applicability and providing constraints on hypotheses attempting to explain migmatites.
