DEFECT MECHANISMS OF CRYSTAL-GROWTH AND THEIR KINETICS

摘要
The dislocation mechanism, stacking fault mechanism, twin lamella mechanism and the cooperative mechanism of re-entrant corners with rough surfaces of imperfect crystal growth are discussed in a unified manner based on lattice distortion and atomic configuration around the defects. It is demonstrated that crystal growth can be more easy than hitherto believed, using a model based on a screw dislocation as a unique self-perpetuating step source.
