LAF3-BASED OXYGEN SENSOR USING PB PHTHALOCYANINE ELECTRODE FOR QUICK RESPONSE AT ROOM-TEMPERATURE

摘要
A solid-electrolyte oxygen sensor operative at room temperature is constructed by using an LaF3 single crystal (fluoride ion conductor) and Pb phthalocyanine as a sensing-electrode material. The e.m.f. change of the sensor on oxygen partial pressure variation is found to be stable and characterized by two-electron reduction of the oxygen molecule. Moreover, the 90% response time of the sensor is as short as about 30 s at 30-degrees-C.
