摘要
The growth and optical properties of a two-dimensional metal were studied by spectroscopic ellipsometry. As a model system, non-intermixing Pb/Ge(111) was chosen. The optical properties of the adlayer were determined in the visible spectral range. A semiconductor-metal transition of the surface is identified below monolayer coverage. It is shown to be a function of the energy of the exciting photons.
