摘要：

The photoelectron spectra of the title compounds, 4 and 5, are reported, along with assignments of the first three bands in each. Analysis within a ZDO model of the splitting between the first two bands in the spectrum of 4 requires that the b1 orbital of the tetramethylcyclobutane ring have an energy of -9.3 eV. This finding is discussed in light of calculations on the effect of tetramethylation of cyclobutane and the approximations inherenl in the ZDO model. © 1979, American Chemical Society.
