LASER-INDUCED PERSISTENT SELF-FOCUSING IN AS2S3 GLASS

摘要
Mechanisms of the photoinduced anisotropic light 'scattering' observed in chalcogenide glasses have been studied. Laser light transmitted through As2S3 glasses exhibits converging and oscillatory behaviors, which suggest that the photoinduced phenomenon is not caused by the scattering. The observations can be accounted for by assuming formation of birefringent self-focusing structures.
