Tensile stress effect on superconducting transition temperature Tc of κ(BEDTTTF)2Cu(NCS)2 is studied by suppressing the thermal contraction. The Tc is increased by 0.5 K-2.0 K for b-axis elongation. By comparing the calculated Tc values with the observed, the significance of the interlayer interaction is elucidated. In addition, the resistivity peak around 90K is extraordinarily enhanced by the elongation. The resistivity is discussed in relation to small polaron effect. © 1990.
