:
Faraday rotation measurements in pulsed magnetic fields up to 160 kOe and in low dc fields are carried out for Ho3Fe5O12 near the compensation point. Transition to the canted phase is observed and the temperature dependence of the critical field determined. From the holmium sublattice magnetization and Hcr versus.
