LASER-INDUCED FLUORESCENCE OF SILICON MONOXIDE IN A GLOW-DISCHARGE AND AN ATMOSPHERIC-PRESSURE FLAME

摘要
The laser excitation spectra of several bands of the A 1-PI-X 1-SIGMA+ system of SiO produced in a glow discharge and an atmospheric pressure flame have been observed. Spectral simulations were used to assign and extract temperatures from the congested excitation spectra. Resolved fluorescence measurements gave an estimate of the ratio of the rates of vibrational energy transfer and electronic quenching in the A state and indicate that the A-X transition moment shows a strong variation as a function of r-centroid.
