LUMINESCENT PLATINUM COMPLEX IN SOLID FILMS FOR OPTICAL SENSING OF OXYGEN

摘要
A strongly luminescent platinum complex embedded in various solid films was tested for its characteristics in optical oxygen sensing in the gaseous state. The effects of the immobilization procedures and the matrix materials on the degree of luminescence oxygen quenching of the complex were studied. A model that combined the quenching kinetics and the solubility equation of oxygen in polymers is proposed to correlate the decrease in luminescence intensity with the quencher concentration. This model could explain the common feature of negative deviations from the Stern-Volmer equation of fluorophores being quenched in polymer films.
