摘要
A new route to mononuclear monocarbon closo-rhodacarboranes derived from [nido-7-(NHR2)-7-CB10H10]2- is reported. The closo-rhodacarboranes 3 and 4 are formed upon N-quaternization with alkenyl halides of the dimeric anion present in [(Ph3PRhB10H10CNH2)2H]-[PPN]+ (1). The molecular structure of zwitterion cluster 4 was determined by X-ray analysis and represents the first 16-electron monocarbon metallacarborane to be crystallographically characterized.
