摘要
Frequencies and absolute line intensities of magnetic dipole infrared transitions in the fundamental band at 6.4 μm of molecular oxygen, 16O2, in its ground electronic state, 3Σg-, have been calculated. The results have been compared with long-path stratospheric spectra, from which several magnetic dipole lines were identified for the first time. The atmospheric spectra were used to determine the total magnetic dipole band intensity, from 1440 to 1680 cm-1, as Sv0 = (1.47 ± 0.51) × 10-27cm-1/molecule cm-2 at 296 K. © 1990.
