摘要
An extraction method resulting in nearly optimal conditions for RNA extraction from salivary-gland cells of Rhynchosciara angelae, as well as a fractionation method for these cells which yields one nuclear and two cytoplasmic fractions, is described. Using these methods, RNA synthesis was studied during middle fourth instar. At this time rRNA was preferentially synthesized, and several rRNA precursors were identified. Heavy RNA and RNA with messenger characteristics were also found. The sedimentation characteristics of RNA obtained from several cellular fractions obtained are reported. © 1969.
