ELECTRONIC-STRUCTURE OF THE ONE-ELECTRON OXIDATION-PRODUCT OF TRIPLE-DECKER LUTETIUM PHTHALOCYANINE TRIMER

摘要
The measurement of the electronic and ESR spectrum of triple-decker phthalocyanine trimer radical in solution is reported. The one-electron oxidation product of the soluble trimer ([(Pc)Lu(CRPc)Lu(Pc)]: Pc = phthalocyanine; CRPc = 15-crown-5 substituted Pc) in dichloromethane shows an ESR signal at g = 2.002(2) at 77 K, and an intense near-IR band at almost-equal-to 5 x 10(3) cm-1. The origin of the near-IR band (which corresponds to the near-IR band of the dimer radical [Lu(Pc)2] at almost-equal-to 7 x 10(3) cm-1) as well as bands in the Q-band region are discussed in terms of a localized orbital model.
