摘要
Polycrystalline samples of Bi1.84Pb0.34Sr1.91Ca2.03Cu3.06O10+x ((Bi, Pb)-2223) with T(c)(R=0) = 112 K have been irradiated by alpha particles of 40 MeV energy up to a maximum dose of 1.5 x 10(16) alpha/cm2. T(c) is observed to decrease with increasing dose. At the highest dose, semiconducting behavior is observed in resistivity measurements, and X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy indicate partial amorphization. T(c) has not been recovered by annealing. The possible mechanism of radiation damage in (Bi, Pb)-2223 is discussed; it appears to be different from the mechanism in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x (Bi-2212).
