摘要
Facilitating and inhibiting sets were given to 240 undergraduates in a differential eyelid conditioning situation as a function of interstimulus interval (ISI). In addition to replicating earlier findings by E. R. Hilgard and L. G. Humphreys and by T. F. Hartman and D. A. Grant (see 37:3, and 35:2), it was found that: (1) performance with a 400 ISI increased substantially after the 1st 100 training trials; (2) latency was shorter to CS+ than to CS-; (3) ISI interacted with instructional sets, with the sets being more effective to CS- at the longer (800-msec) ISI; (4) CS+ and CS- sequential probability conformed to expectation from a linear operator model generally independent of instructional set; and (5) latency increased with successive instances of CS+, but did not change with successive instances of CS-.
