Pyridinium chlorochromate(PCC), in refluxing benzene, has been found to be an effective and convenient reagent for the oxidation and concomitant isomerization of steroidal Δ5-3β-alcohols to the corresponding Δ-3-ketones in high yield. Copyright © 1990 by Taylor & Francis Group. All rights reserved.
