摘要
The fluid A1 (a polymer solution) was investigated in porous medium flow where it shows a marked increase in resistance relative to the solvent. The increased shear viscosity with pronounced shear thinning is not the sole reason for the observed deviations. The remaining deviations can be correlated rather well with results characteristic of a Maxwell fluid in a general type of elongational flow, with a periodically varying strain rate.
