摘要
Influences of electrolytic conditions on emulsion electrolysis were investigated using the electrooxidation of n-octanol on nickel anodes in strongly alkaline solutions as a model reaction. It was found that n-octanol molecules dissolved in the solution are oxidized on an ordinary hydrophilic anode covered with nickel oxide films while its droplets are not. This was also supported from manner of the influences of amount of n-octanol, surfactant, quaternary ammonium salt and agitation on current efficiency for the oxidation. As result, some general guidelines for efficiently conducting emulsion electrolysis were obtained.
