Using chiral SU 3 ×SU 3 charge algebra, a formula for the mixing angle for the kaons with J P=1+ is derived. The formula depends only on the masses of I=1 and I=1/2, 1+ and 1- mesons. Comparison with the quark model is made. © 1969 Società Italiana di Fisica.
