摘要
Treatment of titanium tetrachloride, TiCl4, with tetrakis(dimethylamino)diborane(4), B2[N(CH3)2]4, results in formation of bis(dimethylamino)chloroboranehexachlorodititanium(VI), [(CH3)2N]2BCl·Ti2Cl6. This latter species exhibits spin equilibrium with the value for the exchange integral, J, ⋝ 378cm-1. Characterization was effected by analytical analyses, magnetic susceptibility, and reaction with N(CH3)3 affording 2TiCl3[N(CH3)3]2 and [(CH3)2N]2BCl. © 1969, American Chemical Society.
